Welcome to NYU Synapse National Club!
At NYU Synapse National, we are dedicated to creating a supportive community for individuals with brain injuries. Our mission is to raise awareness about brain injuries and provide a powerful support network through peer support group meetings and buddy programs. We understand the challenges of living with a brain injury and strive to combat the isolation that individuals with brain injuries often face. Join us to connect with others, share experiences, and find support.
MEET THE EBOARD
Programs
Peer Support Meetings
Trained students host regular meetings twice a month to join together individuals with brain injuries and those who want to help care for them. This may include sharing experiences and resources with each other while building meaningful connections.
Buddy Program
These programs provide an opportunity for each individual with a brain injury to be paired with one of our undergraduate students. By fostering personal connections and mutual support, buddy pairs help reduce the social isolation individuals with a brain injury often experience.
Lectures
Synapse chapters host educational lectures and conferences featuring a variety of speakers including physicians and researchers in the field. These events provide attendees with an opportunity to stay informed on the latest advances in the field while also raising awareness of issues related to brain injury in the broader community.
